As part of the 2025 motorsport show at Vienna River Side last Saturday (8th), the Kirchberger GT3 team presented its Audi R8 LMS evo II along with the driver line-up for the 2025 season. Anyone who had expected a new design during the rollout was disappointed. The design of the Audi R8 LMS evo II will remain virtually unchanged in 2025. No surprise – after all, the Eastalent Racing Audi was voted the best design of all current Audi cars in the Audi community in 2024.
There are also no changes to the driver pairing. “I am very happy that we have succeeded in winning Christopher Haase for us after his time as an Audi works driver. I am sure that the development of Eastalent Racing will move forward in great strides with him,” says team owner Peter Reicher.
This makes the direction for Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher clear: in the 2025 season, they’re aiming for a triple title in the International GT Open.
When asked whether the task of securing the triple is a big challenge, Peter Reicher explained: “I don’t see it that way. I am convinced of my team and my drivers. I have personally committed to doing everything to ensure the car is in perfect condition. We have the same first-class engineers on board as in 2024 – the rest I have to manage financially. On one hand, I want to win a championship again; on the other hand, I want to go down in the history books of the GT Open and at the same time position myself for a possible manufacturer change in 2026.”
The two drivers were enthusiastic. Both Simon Reicher and Christopher Haase pointed to the many successful races over the last two years and can hardly wait to go after the triple.
The season opener of the International GT Open will once again be held at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal, from 25 to 27 April.
