After a quiet season for the Plauen-based team led by team manager Uwe Geipel last year, the new ADAC GT Masters season will be fully underway in 2021. As in previous years, the Vogtland outfit is relying on the Audi R8 LMS. After all, no team has competed in more GT Masters races with Audi than YACO Racing.

“It was a little quieter around YACO Racing – but we didn’t rest,” says team manager Uwe Geipel.
“Our planning didn’t leave much room for the GT Masters in 2020. Instead, we used the time to prepare for the 2021 season with tests in Oschersleben, Nürburgring, Sachsenring and Zandvoort. We took on the challenges of the new Pirelli tyre. Now we’re heading into our eighth ADAC GT Masters season – which I’d prefer without Corona. We are prepared and ready to go – waiting to see what comes and taking things as they come.”

Supported by their new partner, Peter Reicher shares more information:
“We are delighted to have such a strong partner as Veedol Germany at our side. We’re aware that, as a small private team, we won’t be competing for the championship. Nevertheless, we have our goals. First and foremost, we don’t want to fall short of our own potential. We want to make the most of our capabilities and raise our learning curve a little higher from race to race.”

The red-and-white team is looking forward to its first appearance in the Magdeburger Börde. The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben will host the season opener of the ADAC GT Masters from 14.05. to 16.05.2021.
