YACO Racing Prepared for ADAC GT Masters Return

YACO Racing is ready as the engines roar back to life next weekend (September 10–12) at the German GT Championship at the Lausitzring, marking the end of the summer break. Just a few days ago, the team gathered in Lower Lusatia to prepare for the next phase of the season.

After an impressive eleventh-place finish in the season opener at Oschersleben and narrowly missing out on 14th place in Zandvoort by just a few centimeters, the YACO Racing Audi delivered another strong result with an eleventh-place finish at its home race at the Red Bull Ring—setting an optimistic tone heading into the break.

One of the team's two drivers, Simon Reicher, described the positive trajectory this way:
“The results are promising on paper. However, in every race, we’ve realized that as a team, we still need to make a significant step forward. We need to capitalize more aggressively on other teams’ mistakes. We’ve missed out on some good positions. Our preparations have included not only team-building but also identifying and addressing potential sources of error ahead of race weekends.”

The second driver, Norbert Siedler—a fast, seasoned GT3 veteran—shared his perspective:
“GT Masters always features an incredibly competitive field. Again and again, we see how just a few tenths of a second can make a huge difference. As a private team, it’s almost impossible to claw back that final tenth from the factory teams. That we’ve managed to significantly close the gap is a credit to the outstanding performance of everyone involved. I also have to admit—my performance edge over Simon has virtually disappeared. Simon has developed incredibly quickly and impressively. We’re both really enjoying it.”

At the Lausitzring, the team’s goal is clear: to challenge the established giants of the GT Masters grid. Fully prepared, YACO Racing enters the second half of the season with momentum.

“Spectators can finally return to the track and into the pit lane,” says team principal Peter Reicher.
“Without fans, motorsport just isn’t the same. It’s meant to be experienced and felt by the crowd.”

For the first time since 2019, fans will be allowed into the paddock on Saturday and Sunday under the 3G COVID safety rules (vaccinated, recovered, or tested). Highlights for visitors will include Meet the Drivers, the Pitwalk, and Open Pitlane events.

All races will be broadcast live and in full by NITRO, and detailed event information and the weekend schedule can be found on the official ADAC Motorsport website.
